In Istanbul the local time zone is GMT+2 and time is always used on 24 hours.

Official Bureaus

Opening times are 08.00 to 12.00 and 13.00 to 17.00. Official Bureaus do not work during the weekend.

Museums

Museums in Istanbul have different working hours and days. Generally they are open to visitors from 09:00 to 19:30 during the winter. Please check working days and hours from information offices before your visit.

Post Offices

Most post offices are open from 08:30 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 16:30. Some of them have longer work hours depending on the location (i.e. airports, centers, etc.)

Banks

Banks are open from 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 18:00. All banks are closed during the weekend.

Shops

Depending on location, shops are generally open from 9:00 to 19:00. In most touristic places and downtown areas, shops remain open until 21:00 or later. Most shops are also open during the weekend.

Most of the SRAs are open from 10:00 to 22:00 seven days of the week.
